Getting Started

The lessons on this page assume no previous knowledge of the instrument and limited to no knowledge of musical theory. Please begin with the first lesson and proceed through them at your own pace. Many of the explanations that I give are very quick, but it essential that you understand the concepts before moving on to more complex material. By the end this series of lessons you will be able to name the parts of the guitar and its different strings, tune the guitar, and play some simple pieces of music using a pick.
